What we collect, and what we do with it
iSon is a product about someone’s mother. A page like that has no business being vague about data, so this says exactly what leaves your browser, where it goes, and how to make it stop.
Who is responsible. iSon is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME, REGISTERED ADDRESS], the data controller for everything described here. Write to hello@ison.care with any question about your data, including the ones at the end of this page.
There is no account to create and no payment to take. That keeps this page short.
If you apply
The application form asks who you would be calling and who they are to you, your name and email, a handful of multiple-choice answers about them - where they live, how often you speak, what language the calls would be in, whether they use a device, who is at home with them, and how you think they would react - and one optional free-text question about what worries you. All of it is voluntary, and all of it is used for one thing: deciding whether to invite you into the founding families programme, and understanding whether this product should exist at all.
The form is one screen, and your name and email are sent as soon as they are both filled in - before you answer the rest. If you stop there, we still hold those two, written to the same spreadsheet, treated the same way, and deleted on the same request.
Please do not put medical details about your parent in the free-text box. They have not agreed to anything here, and a web form is the wrong place for it; we ask about health on the call instead, with them in the room.
When you send the form, our server also records the address your request came from, your browser’s user-agent string, the page you submitted from, and - if you arrived through an advert or a link - the campaign tags and referring site that brought you. That last part is how we tell which advertising is worth paying for.
Applications are written to a private Google spreadsheet and announced in a private Telegram chat that only the team reads. A copy also appears briefly in our hosting provider’s server logs.
Why we are allowed to. Your consent, given by sending the form, and our legitimate interest in finding out whether a product is wanted before building it. You can withdraw either at any time by asking us to delete the application.
If you try the demo
The demo lets you speak or type to a fictional character called Alex. Nina, the mother in it, is invented. Alex's face is generated and belongs to nobody; the album he shows her is stock photography. Neither is a real family.
Your voice goes from your browser to OpenAI, which turns speech into text, writes the reply, and speaks it back. The audio is never stored — not by us, and not beyond the moment it takes to answer. Your microphone is open only during the call, and your browser asks before it is used at all.
The words are kept. When a call ends, the text of what was said — yours and his — is saved. Someone talking to a twin of their own mother, in their own words, is the most useful thing this site can learn before the first interview happens, and that is the only reason it exists. It is kept whether or not you go on to apply, because the people who decide against it are exactly the ones worth understanding.
That record carries no name and no email, and never acquires one. It is the words, how long the call ran, and the advert or link that brought you here. If you do apply, a copy travels with your application so the two can be read together — that copy has your name on it, because you put it there.
You are told this on the screen before the call starts, not after. If you would rather it were not kept, do not answer — or write to hello@ison.care and we will delete it.
Why we are allowed to. Our legitimate interest in finding out whether this product deserves to exist, with notice given in advance and the record kept anonymous. No profiling, and no advertising use, ever.
OpenAI processes the audio and text in order to produce the reply. Under their API terms this content is not used to train their models, and they retain it briefly for abuse monitoring before deleting it.
Analytics counts how many turns a demo call lasted and whether anything broke. It never records what was said - Google is sent numbers, never the conversation.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which parts of the page people reach. It runs under Google Consent Mode v2: until you accept the notice at the bottom of the page, nothing is stored on your device and Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals. If you accept, Google sets cookies that let us tell a returning visitor from a new one.
We have switched off Google Signals and ad personalisation, so none of this is used to advertise to you anywhere, by us or by Google.

Declining the notice stops all four. The first three are also never written if you decline.

We do not sell anything to anybody, and we do not share applications with advertisers, insurers, or care providers.
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Transfers rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Applications are kept for as long as the founding families programme runs, and for no more than two years from the day you send one. Demo conversations are kept on the same terms, and being anonymous they are deleted wholesale when the programme ends rather than one at a time. Analytics data expires on Google’s own schedule, which we have set to the shortest option available. Server logs roll off within a month.
If you ask us to delete your application, we do it and confirm in writing.
What you can ask for
If you are in the UK, the EU, or anywhere with comparable law, you have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your national data protection authority if you think we have got this wrong.
One email to hello@ison.care is enough for any of these. We reply within thirty days, usually much sooner - there are twenty of you.
Children
This page and its form are for adults arranging care for a parent. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with data already collected, we will email everyone who has applied rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top is the last revision.
